 iness Council has determined that an error made in 2014 regarding the coun
 cil seats put up for election that September has resulted in an inconsiste
 ncy with the Shawnee Tribe Elections Act. It is likely that this error aro
 se due to a lack of clarity and specificity in the language of Elections A
 ct.\n\nThe Business Council is calling for special community discussions a
 nd a special constitutional amendment vote to explain the discrepancy, the
  Council’s proposed solutions, and answer any questions or concerns the 
 General Council may have about rectifying this issue.\n\nIn the November/D
 ecember Shawnee Journal mailing, the Tribe asked citizens to save the date
 s February 5, 10 and 12 for these special community meetings. Due to the r
 ise in COVID-19 cases and the Tribe’s current protocols to reduce the ri
 sk of spread, these meetings will now be held exclusively on Zoom:\n\nThur
 sday, February 10 – 6:00 pm CST\n\nRegister here\n\nSaturday, February 1
