Temporary Emergency Food Benefit Assistance
Policy Statement
The Shawnee Tribe will provide funds to assist Shawnee Tribe households in need of temporary emergency food benefit assistance during the government shutdown of benefits. The applicant must already receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Shawnee Tribe citizens living nationwide are eligible for the Temporary Emergency Food Benefit Assistance. Distribution of Temporary Emergency Food Benefit Assistance is dependent upon the availability of funds.
Program Guidelines
- Complete applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis, while funds are available.
- At least one member of the household must be a Shawnee Tribe citizen.
- Applicant must provide proof of current food benefit assistance amount.
- Applications will be accepted starting November 3, 2025.
- Benefit amount is based upon household size, as shown below:

| 2-4 | $350.00 |
| 5 Plus | $500.00 |
Required Documentation
- Completed application form.
- Copy of Shawnee Tribe citizen card(s).
- Copy of Notice of Action or benefit letter showing the approved benefit amount.
