Tribal offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. Applications and supporting documents for the School Clothing & Extracurricular Activities Reimbursement Program (SCECARP) and Higher Education Awards must be postmarked by August 30. Local citizens are welcome to use the dropbox outside tribal headquarters, to the left of the main entrance.

182 YEARS AGO TODAY, SHAWNEE INDIAN MISSION MANUAL LABOR SCHOOL OPENED
Established on October 28, 1839, the Shawnee Indian Mission Manual Labor School is one of North America’s earliest operating residential schools.
On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, the Shawnee Tribe will move back into Phase 2 of a safe reopening plan. Attached is the updated Tribal Reopening Amidst COVID-19 Safely (TRACS) policy.
To commemorate the day of Tecumseh’s death at the Battle of the Thames and honor his courageous life of service to the Shawnee people and Indian Country at large, the Shawnee Tribe leadership will officially declare October 5th.
