To Obtain a New Tag:
Tribal Member must register in person at the Tag Office and bring the following:
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Original title (properly signed over/notarized)
- Tribal enrollment card (not CDIB)
- Lien information (Including Lien Entry Form or lien release, if applicable)
- Bill of sale/Purchase agreement
- Odometer reading
- DD 214 (if applying for Veteran’s tag)
- Up-to-date placard or physician’s letter (if applying for handicap tag)
To Obtain a Renewal:
- We are currently experiencing issues with our online portal for tag renewals. We apologize for any inconvenience this downtime may cause.
- Reminder: After a 30-day grace period, tag renewals are subject to a late fee of $5 per month.

NOTICE:
The tag office has moved to the back to Tribal Headquarters (29 S Hwy 69A, Miami OK).
The Shawnee Tribe offers registration tags for new & used motor vehicles, motorcycles, and RVs, as well as Handicap & Veterans plates for those who qualify.
Fees
Please see the complete fee schedule for new & used cars, trucks, motorcycles, and RVs.
Veteran & handicap tag registrations or renewals are not subject to fees.
Miscellaneous fees are listed below:
- Pull-behind trailer registration – $7.50
- Pull-behind trailer renewal – $7.50
- Replacement Title – $25
- Personalized Tags – $65
- Late Fees – $5 late fee will be imposed for every month a renewal is past due after a 30-day grace period has expired.
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
(Please arrive no later than 4:00 PM for new tags or renewals)
Accepted Forms of Payment:
Debit/credit Card, Check, or Cash (no bills larger than $20)
Upon Sale of Tribally Tagged Vehicle:
Upon the sale of the vehicle, the tribal member is responsible for removal of the tribal tag and returning it to the Shawnee Tribe’s Tag Office.
Change Address
If your address changes, please contact the tag office to report the change. This will assist in avoiding late penalties. A change of address form can be found here.
